Natural Chair

The existence that we regard as an "object" consists of defining what kind of existence it is in the existing information. However, their existence is only a very narrow component, considering the breadth of human perception. I wanted to create a work that stimulates the fundamental sense of humanity by making a chair on the border between known and unknown. The chair is designed to withstand the sitting of a person, and the sitting comfort is like sitting on a stone of the riverbank. Sitting in this chair is an experience artistic for rethinking the object of "chair" in everyday life.

Wood, Screw

2015 560×490×720 (mm)

The seat is joined while you are sitting,

It's as comfortable as you'd imagine from the looks of it.

The joints are made with screws, and the holes for the screws are filled in. At first glance, it is not clear how the pieces were joined.

This work is joined based on calculation, so you can sit on it comfortably.

You can't find out how the materials are joined from the appearance.
