Life Beat

TOKYO MIDTOWN DESIGN TOUCH

2022.10

It is said that the heart of every mammal beats approximately 2 billion times in its lifetime. Compared to humans, the smaller the creature, the faster its pulse, and the larger it is, the slower it is. This work is an installation in which lights flicker in rhythm with the heartbeats of each animal. The soft flickering of the light suggests that life as a whole continues not just through humans alone, but through the interactions of diverse living creatures.
