現代はスマートフォンや腕時計などの時計が否応無しに目に入り、時間が私たちの生活を管理している。その影響で、自分たちが時計を意識していない時も、背後で時間が常に動いているように感じている。しかし、「時間を忘れて本を読みふけった」というような、時間を意識の外に置いて過ごした時間は誰もが経験しているはずである。そしてそのような時間が、せわしなく進む現代に必要な時間感覚なのではないだろうか。
この時計は紐を引っ張る時以外は静止しており、スイッチが入ると現在時刻を表示するために針が回る。今の時間だけでなく、自分が"時間を忘れていた時間"を知ることにより、時の概念の曖昧さを日常の中で表面化させる。

In modern times, it is impossible to spend a day without seeing watches, such as smartphones and wrist watches, so time is managing our daily lives. Due to that strong influence of time, even when we are not paying attention to the watches, we feel that time is constantly passing at the back of our mind. However, people should have experienced the feeling like " forgot about time while reading a book ". Such an experience is necessary for the present age.
This watch is a work to induce such experiences. This watch is a watch that tells the current time only when people really want to know the time.
